EVP Creative Director Never Lost a Pitch
After 12 years in Chicago I left my job at DMB&B, the 3rd largest consumer agency in the world at the time, and moved back to the east coast to manage the creative department at a mid-size business-to-business agency in the Philadelphia suburbs. With a staff of 56, I managed 28 creatives, including art, copy, editorial, and production, with responsibility for the creative output of the agency.
As with any new position of this kind, I had to ensure my team trusted my judgment, prove I was collaborative with the account and scientific teams, and gain the respect of our clients. Over the course of my 5 years there, we had virtually no turnover of staff, grew organic business within our client base, and added to our client roster through a winning streak like they had never before experienced. In the face of a recession, the company enjoyed substantial growth and prosperity, doubling their billings in that time period. One of the most memorable wins was Agency of Record for the University of Pennsylvania Hospital, rated one of the top 10 hospital networks in the United States by Newsweek.
